Our Psychotherapy Services
Clients often don’t understand why they’re having the symptoms they are and come to therapy because they can’t seem to stop these distressing feelings and thoughts. Together, let’s figure out the “whys” to your symptoms as well as the “hows”.
I have helped many individuals successfully navigate the beneath-the-surface conflicts and inconsistencies that live inside each one of us. I have a compassionate, non-judgmental approach that allows clients to feel safe confiding in me, as well as a wealth of years’ experience that lets me understand what you are saying and figure out how to help you move to the next level of growth in ways unique to your approach to life.
Difficult symptoms often are our body’s (mind included!) way of telling us something is wrong, much like a stomachache lets us know that it’s upset. The goal is not to act like there is no problem, but to face the discomfort and see what is causing it, and what might need to change. Sometimes it is our life circumstance that could use some adjusting; at other times, we need to change the way we think and feel about circumstances, and I can teach you the skills you need in order to do that. I have helped many clients bridge the gap from the unknown inner world of confusion and even despair to a place of clearer, keener understanding of the self and how to best meet life circumstances and relationships, resulting in a finer, happier, free-er way to move through this experience.
Conditions successfully treated include sexual, emotional, and physical abuse, obsessive thinking, anxiety and panic attacks, depression, relationship difficulties, and family dysfunction, among others. Let me try to help you help yourself. Please call or use the contact form to set up a time for a complimentary consultation where we can see if we are a good fit for each other. I look forward to meeting you!

Yes. Clients and therapists view online therapy as effective as in-person therapy for most issues, according to a study by the Journal of Patient-Centered Research and Reviews (2022). What's more, telehealth clients attend sessions more regularly and complete the course of therapy more successfully than clients seen in-person.
Additionally, online therapy offers the convenience and comfort of being in your own home, not having to drive to a session, and the confidentiality of not being seen entering a therapy office.
-
In cases of severe mental health trauma, such as paranoia, an in-person presence may help the client feel more safe and secure. In either case, in-person or online, a client's motivation level is the best predictor of a successful outcome.

You can tell me what issues you've been experiencing and what you would like help with.
I can explain some avenues that may bring relief and see if you would like to work together exploring them. You can get a sense of whether you feel comfortable enough with me to schedule a complimentary 15-minute video call to see what it would be like to see and hear each other during a session. If I believe I can help you, and you think I am somebody you would enjoy working with, we can schedule a session. I can also answer any questions about fees and insurance at this time.

Psychodynamics is an area of psychology that allows therapists to understand what’s going on inside a person that may cause symptoms of mental and emotional distress, which often cause difficulties in the person living his or her life to the fullest.
I like to think of psychodynamics as two forces residing within: one force wanting one thing, and another force wanting the opposite thing. These forces are at a stand-off, each one expelling energy toward the other. The result of this collision of forces is an emanation upward into the mind and heart – and sometimes into physical organs of the body resulting in physical pain – that cause distress. Anger, depression, and fear can be the results of this conflict. For example, a person may desperately want love and at the same time desperately fear it. These two forces collide, producing – according to a particular person’s make-up - symptoms of stagnation, panic, or anger. The symptoms vary from person to person, but the inner conflicts often are common to many. Once a conflict is understood and accepted, an individual has the chance to work on each side of the battle. I see my job as an effective therapist to help the client understand the conflict and them to offer tools to help him or her whittle one side and enhance the other to regain a sense of peace. Often, people report feeling a freedom and satisfaction they have not felt in a long time – if ever.
